The Power of ESL and PLM Integration
We are interested to know if you are making use of Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL) as they are becoming more popular. If so, we would love to learn about your management strategies.
As we’ve been developing SilkPLM, we’ve been exploring ways to make retail operations more efficient. One idea that we find promising is integrating Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) with ESL.
The integration of ESL and PLM would allow for real-time updates directly from the product database to the shelves, eliminating the need for manual price changes and outdated price tags.
This would enable faster responses to fluctuating market conditions and quicker implementation of various promotions, while reducing errors.
We could take it a step further by collecting data related to geolocation in the shop, which would help us gather information about inventory and product placement, ensuring data consistency. This would lead to more accurate decision-making.
Do you think implementing such an integration would be useful in your industry? It may sound futuristic, but we believe it has the potential to revolutionize retail operations.
